UNEXPECTED RESULTS

Have you ever endured a difficult situation, certain its outcome will be undesirable, and then lo-and-behold, what you dreaded, turned out to be a blessing in disguise?

A while back, I wrote a Daily Wisdom about a similar past event in my own life. I was very distraught over the breakup of my very first boyfriend who I had given several years of my life. I pleaded with God to mend our relationship, but such was not the case.

Over 18 years later, I can honestly look back and be overjoyed for the ending of that relationship, knowing that had we married, it would have been a relationship doomed to fail. We were simply two different people on two distinct paths.

This is not the first time, what originally was perceived as a "negative" turned out to instead be a "positive." In fact, there have been many times in my life when that proverbial door was closed, and in its place, a window was opened,allowing some wonderful opportunity to be mine.

For example, many years ago, my husband lost his job due to no fault of his own. What could have been a terrible hardship, instead turned in to a rare opportunity! You see, it was our dream to move to a home in the mountains,but what was preventing us was my husband's job.

Now, with the loss of his job, there was nothing holding us back, so we packed our bags and relocated to a most beautiful area of the Rocky Mountains. Sure, times were financially tough as my husband had to look for another job, but, so many years later,we now look back and agree they were the best times we had as a family! Interesting how things always seem to iron themselves out when God is on your side.

All of these situations have proved to me that God is always watching over us. Like a loving and attentive Father, our Creator desires our ultimate health and well-being, so why do so many people fear to place their faith in the caring hands of God? I can only guess, they simply don't know how good God is.

Today, why don't you take a leap of faith, and give God a try? The end result just might surprise you.
