(thoughtful story) From: "John & Mely"
From God's Little Devotional
A story has been told of Freddie Follow-the-Leader. Freddie went to the university of his friends' choice. He did a history degree solely because his girlfriend had also chosen that subject. He took a job with a certain company because his friend thought it was a good firm.
Freddie moved into a large new home because a colleague had just bought one. He bought a new car because the neighbors had one. Before long,Freddie found himself in deep water financially and he was sinking fast!
One of his friends told him about a new multilevel sales company and told him that he was making a killing. So Freddie signed on. He had never sold anything, and he wasn't all that sure about the product or the scheme, but he thought, "All my friends are doing it." He borrowed money to get started.
Several months later when the company folded, Freddie not only lost the money he had invested, but also his job. He had been devoting too much time and energy to his new enterprise. This in turn caused him to lose his new house and fancy car.
And the friends Freddie had been following? They were nowhere in sight. God created each one of us with unique gifts and He has a unique plan for each of our lives. Pursue only what you know is right for you.
That's the road to success --- your road. [Remember] "The grass may look greener on the other side, but it still has to be mown." "...be content with such things as you have."
